Welcome to Hungary's official event site for ProWein 2017!


Once among Europe's top exporters then for decades of communism a lifeless producer of commodity wines Hungary is now again back on the world's wine map - this time with outstanding quality. Come, listen and taste how the country has turned its back on mass production, reached back to its traditions and restructured its wine-business to become a small but exciting home of boutique wine production.


This year Hungary awaits actors of the wine business with a brand new, attractive exhibition booth equipped with a walk-in tasting zone. Masterclasses and workshops facilitated by renowned wine experts will introduce indigenous varieties and acquaint visitors to local regions and hidden gems. MASTERCLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

5 masterclasses and 3 workshops in English and German will walk visitors through Hungary's buzzing wine scene. The facilitated sessions will showcase regions like Villány and Tokaj, introduce indigenous varieties like furmint and kékfrankos, as well as explain styles and methods of traditional Hungarian winemaking. Wines from popular traveller destinations will demonstrate how contemporary Hungarian winemaking gained respect among vacationers. After the closing of the trade fair, a diversified evening programme in Düsseldorf awaits ProWein visitors with “ProWein Goes City”.
